I'm very excited to have my turn in the Creative Blog Hop! I was nominated by the lovely Deb Smart of Stamp and Create. I've met many kind and talented people online during my stints as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, and I'm glad she's one of them. My contribution is what my friend Buffy likes to call a $400 card; not for beginners, because they haven't been collecting papercrafting supplies for years! I feel very lucky to have such variety at my fingertips now.

The Questions:
1. What are you working on now? I have a couple of papercraft-based home decor items I'm working on as a housewarming present for my wonderful mother-in-law.
2. How does your work differ from others in your genre? I don't think I'm all that original!! So many people make greeting cards, and I often draw inspiration from others.
3. Why do you create what you do? I enjoy crafting & creating because it's relaxing for me; I think cards are the things I make most often because they are pretty, yet practical and don't take weeks to complete!
4. How does your creative process work? It depends whether I'm creating for a specific person, or to have cards on hand. This card was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest; it used the Chalk Talk label with a butterfly in the center and a horizontal element across the card under the label. It had bright colors and a springy, contemporary feel. I knew I loved the sketch, but I thought maybe I could put a heart in the center instead of a butterfly, and I've always liked the combination of black, vanilla and red in vintage cards, which I thought would work well if the Chalk Talk label was the focal point of the card. From there it was just a matter of finding what I had that I felt would work together.
I'm also posting this card to the Watercooler Valentine Challenge. At the moment, I haven't found anyone to follow me in the Creative Blog Hop next week, since it seems like every blogger I know has already participated.
